General Thoughts on Mark Redman?

He's available, and I'm considering him... any thoughts? (He starts tomorrow at home vs. Cubs and Ryan Dempster).

I picked him up (dropped the bum farnsworth).
I can't imagine he'll be great, but I think he will be better than last year.

My apologies. I have a nephew named Anfernee, and I know how mad he gets when I call him Anthony. Almost as mad as I get when I think about the fact that my sister named him Anfernee.

I think you can probably do better. Pitching for a weak team offensively and defensively won't help his numbers. Also, he's a soft tosser and a ticking time bomb. That division is tough to pitch against so there are too many reasons as to why I would avoid him.

Well said. Only use him as a spot starter in good matchups. But I wouldn't make him an every week player.

Yeah, I would be scared of Redman just because the Pirates don't score or play good defense. It will take perfect pitching for him to get a win almost every time out. Even guys like Perez that can K people can get wins for us. :,-(

Hey, if he's playing a weak hitting team or ones that have a lot of lefty bats, he might be useful...otherwise it seems like a risk.
