DON'T PUT A BIG-ASS SPOILER ON A FRONT-WHEEL-DRIVE CAR YOU LOOK LIKE SUCH A RETARD AND THAT DOESN'T EVEN COUNT THE FACT THAT YOU TOOL AROUND ALL 2-TONED CUZ YOU'RE POOR AND PISS YOUR MONEY AWAY ON UGLY USELESS CARS!!!!!!!!!

If your gonna do it, do it right and import a damn Nismo Skyline or deck out a Subaru. Hondas are for go-cart tracks.

Why exactly shouldn't there be a spoiler on a fwd? I didn't think aerodynamics really cared whether your car was rwd or fwd or awd for that matter... and to be totally honest most cars don't get anything from a spoiler until you get ridiculously over the speed limit. For the record I do drive a Honda so I am biased but if you don't think Honda
puts out some really nice engines, now thats just silly :-t

Back in the day when cars were still of some importance to me, I had a FAST RX-7. 1980, with the bigger '85 rotary engine in it. Racingbeat manifold Holley 350 carb, open air filter, and a straight pipe with no catalitic converter. Thing blew flames out the tail pipe. The exterior was all stock so it didn't look fast. I used to drag race some of those clowns you descibed for money. I miss that car.

Yeah, your friggin spoiler really helps your honda that tops out at 70... The worse thing is that everyone who drives these ricers at school is some white guy who thinks hes black and has seen The Fast and The Furious 5 times more than neccessary. I could go on forever about how I hate this whole "ricing" thing but I know some people here are into it and I won't judge them.

how funny ...

Ricers/Ricer Clubs and Ricer Racing, were a fad out here in California about 5-7 years ago, and has since died down.
Is it just now reaching the midwestern states?
Damn you guys are slow. ;-7

It's a huge difference. A spoiler's sole purpose is to create downforce on the rear of the car to make sure the back tires stay in solid contact with the road during acceleration. The effect increases with speed, but it still makes some difference at lower speeds. Stick your hand out the window at a downward angle going 40 and imagine that force multipled over a few square feet. This will invariably detract from the downforce on the front of the car (think see-saw), which will actually hurt the performance of a FWD car. An extreme illustration of the downforce effect is a drag racing car, and there are plenty of instances where they flip backwards b/c of the force differential.

And so you have all these dopes throwing "cool looking" (read: useless) spoilers on their car so they can negate several of the $$$ they dumped into an extra 100hp. It's like seeing someone who thinks they're really cool walking around oblivious to the 'kick me' sign taped to his back.

Yeah, the guys driving these are always irritating too, think they are a race car driver. Get a real race car, like a Ferrari or a Porsche, then walk you are the talk of the town. Oh wait, thats right. You are poor. Thats why you drive a Civic. Maddox had a very hilarious article about ricing cars. I suggest reading it for anyone who hates this fad.
