play strategy?

How should I decide who to play? I am in a points league, and I struggle with who to play on a night in night out basis. I have tried leaving my percieved top 3 outfielders in all the time, regardless of the pitcher, but I have started to play matchups depending on the pitcher and past histories of each player. Please give me some suggestions on strategy?

For example:Tonight

Start
Brian Giles (VS Redding)
Manny Ramirez(Always play him)
Ryan Klesko (VS Penny(FLA)
Adam Dunn(Lefty vs Righty of STL)

Bench
Garrett Andersen(VS Mussina)
Austin Kearns (Righty VS Righty)

I for one would start Kearns over Dunn .. if it's a points league .. your most important stat is .... "Total Bases"

I also fiddle with my lineups on a daily basis, trying to figure out every little factor so I never have to see someone go 4 for 4 with 3 HRs sitting on my bench.

It doesn't always work and it takes a ton of effort just to squeeze out a little extra out of my team, but I enjoy doing it.

So I guess if you like fiddling, go for it. If it's too much of a headache, just go the same 4 everyday.

It backfired on me tonight, I played Klesko because he is facing a right handed lesser known pitcher, and Andersen is up against Mussina and Andersen goes yard for a 2 run shot in the second. Fantasy can be fun!
