Website with Starting Lineups?

Postby blankman » Tue May 13, 2003 4:28 pm

I'm getting killed by starting players who are sitting out games. Anyone know of a good website where I can find the daily starting lineups? thanks a lot

Unfortunately, I don't think any such beast exists. Occasionally, managers will give some kind of indication that they're going to sit a guy, but not very often.

The main reason for this, I think, is that managers don't want to give their opponent even a small comeptitive advantage by giving them advance notice with regard to which batters their SP will be facing.
Everything you know is wrong.

If you're in a yahoo league, here's something that I've noticed.

About 30 minutes before gametime, yahoo will place 0's for all stats for players that are in the starting lineup. I believe you must have purchased Stat Tracker (I have) to take advantage of this.

Anyway, since it's more than 5 minutes before gametime, you can adjust your lineup. I was able to sub Mueller with Stynes tonight since Mueller had no 0's in his stats column while my other BoSox player did (Nomar).

To be sure, I checked the yahoo box score before the game started. The starting lineups were posting ... with no Mueller.
Can we build it?

I use the Yahoo gamechannel. They usually have the starting lineups in there before the game starts.

I use the Stat Tracker to for this advantage as well. I just fire it up about an hour before the games start and see who is playing and who is not. I'll double check by clicking the MLB scores on the left panel and check the box score to see if the lineup for that game is in or not. It's a great way to make sure you maxmize your starting players on a given night.

I've noticed that the zeros also appear on your regular Yahoo team page.
