Its foolish that they are sedning gathright back down to AAA. He is clearly better then Sanchez. Sanchez is an idiot, no doubt in my mind that hes a moron.
man, i dunno...sanchez has hit a single, double and scored three runs tonight in the 3-spot. i mean, it's one night, but it makes you think a little bit, right? well, it makes me think a little bit.
i guess the real question now is whether to hold on to gathright in non-dynasty leagues (my league only keeps several players)...obviously, in a dynasty league you have to hold on to him, but re-drafts and basic keepers, it's a different story. i actually (*gulp* and *wince*) am going to drop him.
To me, it's pretty clear that they are showcasing him for a trade. Obviously his value is at an all time low but I guess they will run him out there and see if there are any takers.

the decision, i am virtually assured, is non-baseball related.
b
except they didn't give him a lot of money at all
Also on Gathright, he had a couple bad defensive plays in the last game which I think did him in even more (also made him a good scapegoat).

Actually, it's true and Gathright is indeed even worse in the OF than Sanchez. In fact, he's one of the worst CF's I have ever seen. His routes are awful, his arm is inaccurate and he's clueless as to situational play. You really have to go some to outblunder Sanchez at this position, but Gathright has actually done so. What's even harder to believe is that as bad he was last summer in his TB trial, he was even worse this spring.
Beyond that, it's all about options. Someone had to go and Gathright has options, so away he goes.
