ST. PETERSBURG - The Devil Rays reinstated outfielder Alex Sanchez Thursday and optioned outfielder Joey Gathright to Triple-A Durham. Sanchez was suspended 10 days for violating the game's policy on performance-enhancing

When did Dusty Baker take over TB's leadership? Seems pretty stupid to send him down to make room for Alex Sanchez. :-P

Hate to say it, but as much as I hoped it wouldn't .... it was pretty obvious this was going to happen.

Why would anyone want Sanchez right now? His power numbers are obviously going to take a hit. I'd expect him to lose atleast half of his total homeruns.

hybrid - honestly now - whats the scoop here? I mean - arent fans outraged they sent Gath back down for one of the absolute worst CFers in all of baseball. I mean really, Alex Sanchez is bad - especially defensively. What can the manager possibly use as an excuse?

I have no stake in this whatsoever - Im not a Gath or Snachez owner, and I could care less about the DRays - but at the same time, this is one of the more perplexing situations in baseball right now. Where does Pinella stand - is his job in jeopardy or do fans and management see him as a positive?

Dusty may have a better percentage than Torre but he is awful when it comes to developing young talent
You don't have to like 'em to own 'em!!!!

So that would be 1 homerun instead of 2.:-D <br> I don't think anyone owns Sanchez for power or defense. He'll have a decent average and some stolen bases.
