I picked him up pretty late in a couple of leagues and he isn't disappointing. He is drawing a bunch of BB and is batting 2nd against RHP. If Manny ever wakes up he is in line for a ton of runs.

me too - people had forgotten about him.

Im pretty sure the big knock against him was whether or not he is platooning. I still am not sure about that. Any Boston fans know the scoop?

only problem with him is he sits against lefties. So that kills a lot of his ABs when payton gets the start ahead of him and renteria bats number 2.

I just picked him up as my 6th OFer in a league that uses 4+util. He's the perfect guy for the spot because I can start him until Kearns heats up, and especially against righties.

Thanks for the heads up, his stats are better so far than I thought they were.

Ditto. If you can follow the matchups, he's a very good guy to have.

Exactly. Sit him against LHP but the majority of the SP the Sox face will be RHP.

I have him on my 5x5 traditional roto team as my 5th outfielder. After I threw out his name at the draft for a mimimum bid of a buck I was mad that no one else bid on him and I was "stuck" with him. Ugh.

Now I am happy. It costs money against the salary cap to make roster moves (I have 5 moves this season) and we have no bench....we start everyone.....so I hope he keeps this production up. ;-D

his value is actually increased by the fact the he generally sits vs LHP. that means he doesnt go 0-25 vs randy johnson and he is always in a favorable position. yes, u lose some ABs and opportunities but you get more quality ABs

Yep, and in leagues where you set your lineup weekly, this hurts bad.

Trot will see the majority of time this year in Boston. Prior to last year, he had never spent time on the DL, so it doesn't really fit his MO to be injury prone. Additionally, his 25+ HR and 90 RBI along with 95 runs and a .300 average is very nice, and he may break out to the higher side as well
