I didn't see the game, but I'm having trouble with my math here. How may bases were they using?

If player A is on first and player B who is at bat makes an out, that's a man left on base. Player C can then come up to bat and make an out, leaving the same man on base. This adds up to 2 men left on base between players B and C even though it was the same man.

It's possible that you are correct but I think that is only for ind. batters stats. I think for the team LOB it is figured as # of men that reached base that were not brought home.
example: team line shows 5 hits + 2 bb = 7 on base - 3 runs = 4 lob
All of the true things I am about to tell you are shameless lies

Well team LOB counts once, at the end of the inning. Individual counts it after every AB. The team LOB was 14, but individually they add up to 24. That's a lot.

I think if you add them up it gives you a better idea of the futility. Three guys failing to drive in a runner is worse than one guy failing to drive in a runner.
