Lieby is better hitter in a much better lineup.

Lieberthal is the better power hitter and is extremely hot right now, so much so that the Phillies have been using him as their cleanup or #5 hitter most of the time. Lo Duca should hit for the better average, and will get more runs, and I think he's probably the only catcher that bats #2 in the lineup. One caveat with Lieberthal is that he is very injury prone and tends to get more days off than Lo Duca. Lo Duca has proven to be very durable and he can play 1B and OF, so sometimes the Dodgers just put him at 1B instead of giving him a day off. Overall, I think long term, I'd rather have Lo Duca, but they are both in the top 5 or 6 offensive catchers.

Lieberthal is the better choice of the two. As jdh already pointed out, he's a power hitter. LoDuca is a pretty good catcher. He went through a long slum at the beginning of the season but has broken out of it now. He should be pretty good. But I'd still grab Lieberthal. He's batting way over .300 also. LoDuca is at .276 now....
