The sophomore jinx is always in the back of my mind. But right now it is too early to call it a jinx. If he doesn't pick it up in the next 7 to 10 days, then we have reason to be concerned.
Fortunately, I have him as a reserve OF and not a starter.
It's always an option but I wouldn't bank on it. The season is still really young. Give him time. Keep in mind that I'm not the biggest Bay fan, though. I wouldn't want to depend on him for anything other than a 3rd OF.

thanx, i hate bringing it up too, i dont believe in the jinx either, anyway he is in my OF slot but i do need production from him
I don't think it'll be so much him as it will be the guys around him. The offense is still terrible, so teams could conceivably pitch around him a lot. I think he's batting around .300 right now which is good, but no HR's at this point.
He was a little hot/cold last year with the power, so you might want to take that into account. He had two 8 RBI games last year, so that was a lot of HR's and RBI's in a short time.

"Bay's K totals scare me too much for this year. I'd take Maggs, then Rowand, then Bay. I am not saying Bay will definitely crash, what I am saying is that he Ks too much for me to risk for this year. If he performs well for another year, then apparently he is just one of those types of players that is just a free swinger....but I want to see it first.

He could bounce back, and he actually might make a decent buy low candidate right now because I believe he was battling an injury during ST. Still however, I was very nervous about a sophomore slump and so far he's heading in that direction. I don't own him, but I don't have an agenda against the guy or anything...so I hope he rebounds.
