no offense, but these guys aren't pulling these analyses out of their rear ends... they're going off of real trades data. (or at least I really hope they are). So there must be quite a few Tejada and Takatsu for Pujols trades kicking around on Yahoo.

Or Takatsu and Javy for Jones.

I'm not defending these guys- most of them are idiots- but they're probably not just making this up if they're saying things like "deals for Takatsu usually involve..." when they've got all sorts of data at their fingertips.

I agree, thats exactly how I took this as well. He didn't say this is what you WILL get. He said this is what has happened when Takatsu has been involved in trades.

I understand Yahoo deserves alot of critism most of the time. But now it seems that people are just looking for things to pick on without actually reading what it says.

In Mr. Harmon's defense (I never thought I'd ever say that), I think he's talking about deals that are actually happening. I don't think he should be advocating those views as such, but the way it's written sounds like he's looking at actual data for Yahoo leagues. Which means it's the teams' owners that are smoking crack. What a surprise.

yeah but you put in a line that I was thinking afterwards about it being the team owners making the deals that were smoking crack. So we'll call it a draw as you added the few extra sentences...

I wish when they had these extreme examples, they would give context.

If I had pujols at first and someone like khalil green at short, I might certainly trade him for takatsu and tejada -- especailly if I had another 1b to plug in like tex or helton -- sometimes you see that in those public yahoo leagues. It might be "unbalanced" but help you out in the long run.

However, to imply that jones is a "top hitter" is mistaken. He is a very good hitter, not top or anywhere near elite.

Im doubting you get a jones for takatsu at any rate.
