Is Buerhle going to kill my team

Postby guest » Mon May 12, 2003 8:53 pm

Anybody have any thoughts on Buerhle? His ERA is pretty good, but I think the lack of run support might get to him mentally and he won't be his normal self this year.

Any thoughts? I'd like to here the views of some Sox fans.

He has wounded my staff(see my post above). I can't afford to
let him go unless he has a physical problem. I(and you) can only
hope he gets back on track.

He should start getting some more run support. He is currently 99th in support for pitchers and you have to believe Konerko and Maggs will start hitting and scoring more runs.

Well I hope so, because I have Maggs on my team as well. I traded Millwood and Garland for him. I want Millwood back right now. Hopefully Maggs will start hitting like his old self.

He will turn it around. Last year he won 19 games with basically the same lineup and without colon. Of course, I am partially biased because he was my first sp drafted and I need him to turn it around. He needs some confidence though and will get it soon with their upcoming schedule - take a look at it and it will boost your confidence in him. He could very well win his next 4 starts! Everyone will wish they would not have traded or worse yet dropped him.

I had both Buerhle and Wood, and I was concerned about both because of Wood's abuse at the hands of Baker (141 pitch count on Sat.) and Buerhle has been pretty heavily overworked the past two years and might be wearing down, for his age. So, I managed to find someone who would give me Kevin Brown, Mark Mulder, and Manny Ramirez for Buerhle, Wood and Magglio Ordonez. Now that causes me to lose some strikeouts and I have to worry about Brown staying healthy, but I don't have to worry about Wood or Buerhle anymore.
