They didn't want to make it baseball specific because they are stressing the fact that it's a multi-purpose facility and not just for baseball.
If you've ever been to a concert there you'll know that they need to do more than just change the name.
Or maybe they could have shown a commitment to the BJs and not tried to make it a multi-pupose fascility. I understand the decision from a utility standpoint, but as a fan, wouldnt you rather have them dedicate a stadium 100% to your fav team? No concerts, no trade shows, nothing but baseball - build a civic center for the other stuff.
Anyway - mucho congrats on such a bright start guys. I love seeing the Yankmees and Redsux lose.
What the hell, I'll hop on the Jays' bandwagon, anybody but NY/ Boston out there. I did take VWells and am hoping that he can rebound and have a decent year for me. And Batista. Boo Yeah!!
Maybe it has something to do w/ Verducci's interesting article on his 'paper lion' experience w/ the Jays in ST?

maybe it will be some type of reverse cover vurse, and the jays will dominate all season.
Verducci doing the Jays thing... yeah that was weird. The whole time I was reading the article about the new guy in camp, I thought they were talking about Koskie. Then he said something like, "they even let me get my picture taken with the rest of the team". I'm thinking "WTF - he's our starting third baseman the least we can do is let him get his picture taken"
