So maybe I sound like Cornbread Maxwell talking about his Tigers at the start of last season but when was the last time that the Jays led the league after seven games? They took a series from the Bo$ox and pounded the A's last night

GO JAYS!

btw - this doesn't belong in the Cheering and Venting forum because this is another discussion about payroll, just be glad that I didn't make this a sticky :-D

While we're on salaries, for comparison's sake:

1. NY Yankees: $205,938,439
2. Boston Red Sox: $121,311,945

Percent greater: 69.8%

12. Houston Astros: $76,779,022
25. Toronto Blue Jays: $45,336,500

Percent greater: 69.4 %

It's rather striking, isn't it? (Assuming I did my math right.)

And some people say we don't have salary problems. :-b

1st Place Blue Jays
Tied for Last Place Yanks and Sox

Hey maybe they can have a 1-game playoff to decide the true last place finisher. And Bucky Dent can throw out the first pitch to Carlton Fisk.

:-D

Ahh, the life of a Blue Jays fan. If only the season ended after a week. :-D

Anyone think calling the Skydome 'Rogers Center' was a little weak?

I mean 'Rogers Field' or 'Rogers Park' would have been so much more appropriate for a Baseball/Football facility.

Just something my friends and I have been moaning about for the past month.

I can appriciate why they did change the name, but it will always be the Skydome to me.

Maybe 'Rogers Skydome' would have been the best idea.
