Tuesday to Tuesday league, would you ever bench Pedro (vs. FLA/Beckett) in favor of Webb (vs. COL/Chacon and @ WAS/Loaiza)?
Is this a viable game plan to pick up many pitchers and maxamize your # of starts, or is it always best to stick with your studs when their turn comes each week?

I'd go with Pedro in this situation. He's been pitching too well to bench that kind of production. With Webb, you never know what you're gonna get. Pedro could possibly outproduce Webb this week, and his ratios are almost sure to be better.

You always stick with your studs. No reason to not start a top tier pitcher for 2 starts from a crummy pitcher on a crummy team. Not even debateable imo.

......But do you take into consideration when your stud is going against another stud, vs. your 2 start average pitcher going against 2 lesser schmucks? Still stick with your Ace?

In a points league, even if your stud (pedro) picks up a win with 8 inn 10 K's and 1ER that's still only 23pts vs. if your 2 start average guy (webb) gets a win and a loss with 6 inn, 6 K's and 3ER in each game that is 17pts or with those same lesser stats and two wins 32pts.
Win (+10pts)
Loss (-5pts)
K (+1pt)
ER (-1pt)
IP (.5pt)
The upside just seems a little greater than the downside.

Walks don't count?

Yes, I was, uh... I was thinking about ordering the tape, the videotape... about the college girls and the... the wild... the wildness. They're going wild or something? Somebody told me... about going wild.

Definitely always stick with your stud in this situation. It's unlikely that an average pitcher will have 2 strong outings in a row. I've gotten burned playing matchups too many times.

Don't you have a lesser option than Pedro with only 1 start?
