Good Start

Postby kimchi_chigae » Mon Apr 11, 2005 11:44 am

the jays are off to a good start. 4-2 is pretty good. ;-D while winning 2 out of 3 from the d-rays isn't all that impressive, winning the series against boston was great.

we could easily be 6-0 if the bullpen had been a little better...but i'll take 4-2 so far, esp cuz if i remember well the jays started 0-3 or 1-4 for the last couple of years...

the rotation has been pitching well...but the one player who has been really good so far is mookie's boy eric hinske. ;-D

very good to see a good start for the jays, who as you said have been really slow starters for the month of april recently.

exciting finishes to the games as well, nice to see them win the close ones. ;-D

It was great seeing the Mayor, O-Dog, come through in the bottom of the 9th yesterday after flying out to kill the rally in the home opener. There was a lot of energy at that game and when he flied out he looked really dejected - glad to see him come back like that ;-D

Oh, and our ballpark took a chunk out of Damon - 6 stitches. Looks like they're all pitching in this year :-b

Hey, as long as Batista keeps getting saves and/or cheap wins (hopefully more saves meaning lower ERA's and WHIP's), you guys can do as good as you want. ;-D

I was at the game where O-Dawg won it in the 9th and I have to say it was a great game. I think the "small ball" philosohpy the jays are using this season is working well for them and makes the game a lot more exciting because they are actually get people on base! Lots of energy at the stadium and great game!

small ball? the jays are tied with the yankees for the AL lead in HR. 8-o

:-b

i doubt the jays can keep it up on the HR department, but as long as they keep putting men on base i think they can score a bunch of runs. i know the jays don't have delgado anymore, but not too long ago, two years, the jays were second in the AL in runs scored....

Yeah I wouldn't call this small ball. We're the only team in baseball with no SB's, and we're leading the league in HR's. But whatever we're doing, it's working! :-D

Now if only Vernon could break out of this slump...
