On Baseball Tonight, they are arguing over what's harder, baseball or golf, with John Kruk choosing golf over the objections of everyone who has a brain. It's painful.
Roger Angell: I was talking with Bob Gibson and I said: 'Are you always this competitive?' He said: 'Oh, I think so. I got a three-year old daughter, and I've played about 500 games of tic-tac-toe with her and she hasn't beat me yet.'

They're essentially the same swing, though, so you have to learn the same fundamentals in both sports.
Yeah, they are the same swing, but in one sport the ball is sitting on a tee, while in the other it is coming at you at 90 MPH and with movement. I wonder which one is more difficult.
In baseball, if you hit the ball hard, it's got a good chance of being a hit. In golf, hitting the ball hard isn't enough. Have you played golf? It's a hard game. The plane the swing is on makes it more unnatural, so it's hard to hit the ball where you want.
I'm more of a baseball fan than a golf fan, but baseball is no easier. At top levels, nearly every sport is just as difficult.
Your wisemen don't know how it feels to be thick as a brick...
There was a thread in here last year about the diffculty of sports and someone posted a link to a sports illustrated article (i think) that did a bit of a cross-comparison of sports and their difficulty and ranked them. I recall Boxing being number 1.

Yes, I actually play golf very frequently, practically every day during the summer. The more difficult game to play is baseball, at any level. I realize that golf is not as physically demanding as baseball. Also, if I had to either make par on any hole at Augusta, or hit a baseball off Randy Johnson, I am positive I would have a better shot at making par.
