Thanks hybrid and kimchi.
Yeah if its a torn capsule, I dont think you can write him off for the rest of the season. But he isnt really good enough to occupy a DL slot in most leagues so may want to cut him loose.

Why did Seattle waive him? Is it more about $ or the injury?

I don't think it was money-related at all. I don't even think he is arbitration eligible yet, so he'd be pretty cheap. Honestly I think it was attitude-related more than anything. They didn't think he was as serious as he should have been in rehabbing the injury, so they weren't counting on him for next year. Then there was the whole issue of the Rule V draft coming up and free agents to sign, so they wanted to clear some room on their 40-man. So based on their experience with Bobby last year, he was one of the guys to go.

It's too bad because I thought he had the chance to be a decent middle of rotation starter, and he's cheap. I would have liked to have seen him get a shot but it looks like that shot will come with KC or someone else...

But at least we still have Frankie, Pineiro, and Meche... ;-7

I think it's the injury. Madritsch ain't that young and he could be out for at least the start of next year. He just finished missing virtually the whole past year due to injury and I just don't think the Mariners figured that he played a part in their future rotation. He has a history of injury even before his days in the Northern League with Winnipeg.
