Anyone going to make a case for someone other than Pat Burrell?
12/25 with 5 runs, 3 HRs, and a ridiculous 15 RBIs!!!

Schmidt and Pedro had good weeks, but I would put them on the second notch below Burrell.

Gotta be Schmidt. 2 W's is huge, and his ratios and K's were very nice too. Burrell was about as good as a hitter can get, but a 2 start pitcher that does that well can't be matched by a hitter IMO.

Could make a case for Xavier Nady or even Brian Roberts (where did that come from, wish he'd steal a base though).

I'll vote for Eric Gagne. I knew the guy was awesome, but I didn't realize how dramatic the overall impact would be on the LA bullpen as a whole.

As for those who actually played, I'll give the player award to Burrell and the pitcher award to Beckett. Hard to argue against those numbers.

I second the Gagne vote.

I mean, umps don't like throwing guys out of games, especially stars. So to be able to get tossed while still being on the DL, magical.

Anyway, hafta go with Pat from the Phillies for the hitting MVP. Gotta agree with the Beckett pick. I originally had Schmidt here, but after reading these posts didn't notice the Beckett dominance.Anyway, I'm kinda hurting today on one team after Carpenter, Colon, and Buehrle started!! (Ouch, I'll be fine in a couple weeks I'm sure, but for today, ouch.)
