Craig Biggio help

Postby DaQ » Sun Apr 10, 2005 8:34 am

In my league, a player gains eligibility at a new position if they play 5 games at the new position. Today, Craig Biggio should be playing his fifth game at 2B, thus giving him his eligibility. I picked him up yesterday so he can be a 2B.

My question is, how will he do this year (numbers-wise) and should I start him over the "now-platooning" Todd Walker in my weekly lineup league (pts league)? Thanks.

I project him at something like .275-20-75, which isn't too bad for a 2B IMO.

Biggio will do well this year. I'm not sure if he will do better than walker though. Biggio will hit for more power but it is up in the air as to how well Walker will do because he will see way more AB's this year over last. Can't go wrong with Biggio the guy plays every day and will get 500+ AB's

I firmly believe Biggio is going to put upt top 10 2B numbers this year. I don't feel the same way about Todd Walker. I'm riding Cantu right now, but Biggio is going to be my 2B (I drafted him for this purpose).

I have the same situation as you, except I drafted Biggio intending to use him as my 2B, and drafted Walker to fill in until Biggio becomes eligible.

If the beginning of the season is any indication, Walker will not play everyday, being benched in favor of Hairston on occasion. Biggio may not be attractive as an OF, but those that were smart enough to draft him as a 2B will be getting a top 6-7 player at the position (at least).

I was laughed at during my draft for taking Biggio in the 20--something round; I believe I received quite a bargain!

I look for Biggio to have a big year at 2B. He doesn't match up well with others players in the outfield, but put up against other players at 2B Biggio is a very serviceable player.
