JD Drew, just a slump or...

Yep, he forgot to hit completely....drop him. Just kidding. Come on, it's just an early season slump. Jeter had one last year. The minute you give up on a very good hitter in a slump they go off. It's the law of averages. Be patient and don't put in some schlub for Drew while he goes off on your bench.

Ok you guys bench Drew and I will bench Figgins.....Deal?
Then drew will hit for the cycle and Figgins will steal 4 bases in one game

I just hope he doesn't join the ranks of SUPER BUSTS like

Pat Burrell - 2003 - 57-21-64-.209 :-P this after 2002 - 96-37-116-.282
Paul Konerko - 2003 - 49-18-65-.234 :-P this after 2002 - 81-27-104-.304

It probably will because I had both those loser in 2003 and I have Drew too (10th round pick)!!!! :-? <img src=/forums/images/smiles/kiss.gif> :,-( :~(

Unlike rookie busts that have one good year these losers had a few good years in a row before becoming SUPER BUSTS. I think there should be an annual fanstasy sports award show - you know, held by like Yahoo sports or something -> Fantasy MVP, and of course, SUPER BUST OF THE YEAR!

He'll probably only get 5 games next week, which supports benching him. The five pitchers he'll likely face:

Reuter (L)
Tomko
W. Williams
Eaton
Peavy

40% of his games are against a lefty and Peavy. No thank you...

yeah i'm think about it in my weekly-5 games argues more for it than anything-i note that he did hit .287 last year against them.

If it help at all sort by O-Rank and see how some of the other good/great players are fairing after the first week - I don't think Pujols is above .300 yet, no homer - Tejada's the same deal.

I'm not saying he'll turn it around, but it's too early to make a rash decision on what to do about him.

Jeter has had more of a track record last year than Drew, who's only had one good year. I would bench him and go with a hot bat.

I'm benching Drew for Luis Gonzalez next week, but based more on matchups than on Gonzo's hot start and Drew's terrible one.
My advice is bench him if you have a viable option, but don't drop some scrub into your lineup.
He'll be OK. Until he gets hurt.
