The LA Dodgers of LA. Off to the best start in 2005. Well, it's only been 5 games, but you have to start somewhere. Jeff Kent has looked great. Clutch hitting, and a great range factor in the field. As good as Kent has looked, Choi and Drew have looked bad. I have confidence that Drew will come around offensively, and atleast he can play defense. Choi on the otherhand, has looked just sick on both offense and defense. He can't field a ball, he can't make a throw, and he looks like a girl swinging at the plate. Then there's Jose Valentin, who has been Mr Clutch on offense.

even if they do come out of the west they'll be playing golf faster than any other team that makes the playoffs
would you have said that the Brewers were 'the best' before they lost yesterday? This has been an odd season and I've gotten smoked a couple of times by my SP (OPerez, picking Suppan up off the WW going 'the Phillies will get pounded in StLouis...' argh!!) but I would be leery of proclaiming anyone, even the Yankees as the hands down best team just yet.
Its kind of an 'any given _____day' situation as there are a lot of even bottom feeding teams w/ guys who have already done suprisingly well. Which is bad for fantasy players, in that any projections would seem to be devalued a bit when either projected good teams don't do as well as you thought OR when projected bottom feeders do much better than expected. It certainly makes it more interesting though.
I've thought that people were too down on LA all pre-season. Everyone said they sucked and made alot of big mistakes.
Jeff Kent wasn't a mistake. JD Drew wasn't a mistake. Derek Lowe wasn't a mistake.
They are a solid team. With the very young, inexperienced Padres, and the old-broken down Giants, LA has a great chance at making the postseason again this year...
