Well, I don't know really, I think they will actually end up pretty similar....but for fantasy purposes, if you can DL Berkman and play someone half-decent in his place, I'd take Berkman for sure.

GA has looked really good to me. He hasn't hit a HR yet, its only 4 games in and hes really only a 25-30 guy, but he has been hitting the ball really hard. He almost hit one out in game 2 it went to the wall. He has his pop back and hitting gappers and balls down the lines. He is one of the best doubles hitters in the game.

they are pretty similar players when healthy, so you have to take GA. he's in a better lineup and a weaker pitching division. plus, berkman is hurt

Ah, I ended up picking up L. Berkman in a trade that also landed me J. Smoltz.

I was also really high on G. Anderson this year, but with an opportunity to pick up Smoltz, I had to do it.

I was also really high on G. Anderson this year, but with an opurtunity to pick up Smoltz, I had to do it.

Ended up unloaded Burnett/Anderson/Jenkins for Smoltz/Berkman.

you made a big mistake

Agreed, I'd much rather have Burnett/Anderson over Smoltz/Berkman without even mentioning the addition of Jenkins. Nobody knows how Smoltz will handle going back to starting and while Burnett and Anderson were injured in the past Berkman is injured RIGHT NOW. Big mistake.

I looked at it like this, my outfield consists of C. Lee, I. Suzuki, C. Biggio, L. Berkman, & B. Bonds. Berk & Bonds are both on the DL, however, Berkman should be back in Early to mid May.

I have a lot of confidence in Smoltz, I watched him in his first start and I think he'll come back strong. This is a 12 team league and Jenkins was basically a throw away for me, I didn't need him he'd end up rotting away on my bench anyway. The addition of Berkman will end up helping me in the end, my opinion anyway.

Not to mention I have a lot of possibilities for guys to pick-up in FA -- Mench, Taveras, Clark, C. Monroe, and Dye are all available.
