Ok, I know it's early and I'll have to reevaluate, but I'm curious what y'all think. 8 team head2head, we'll keep 5 at the end of the year. My 5 from last year were Pujols, Arod, Hudson, C Zambrano, and Peavy. Who should I hold on to for next year?
We count 10 offensive categories, 11 pitching, so well rounded is the key.
You have to keep Arod and Pujols so the decidion is basically choosing 3 of the rest. Depending on which 10 categories you use you should probably also keep either Crawford or Ichiro. And for you final 2 spots Id probably keep Peavy, young stud whos in a great pitchers park, and Perez who should be great for any ratios such as k/9 or k/bb ratio. If you post all the categories I could probably give you a more definite answer.
Pujols and A-rod are locked. Ichiro would be my third pick. Like others, I agree that you should keep Peavy, and then choose between Zambrano and Perez. With these five, you get tons of hits, runs, HR, decent steals, lots of rbi, and high average. Also a lot of K's and low era.
The way I see it, none of those pitchers were taken before the 5th round of my draft, but the first four listed were top 15 picks. Hitters are more consistent than pitchers and those four will keep you competitive in all five offensive categories by themselves.
