I'm eventually wanting to overclock and such (mainly when I'm about due for a new setup) and it was just easier to do it now than try to add it to a case later. Plus, it wasn't incredibly expensive (just $150 for everything ready to go out of the box) plus it's quiter, more efficient, and you can discount the cool factor when it comes to computers....at least I can't. (I didn't sound like a salesman there did I?)
Again, thanks for all the suggestions. I'll keep you posted (at irregular intervals probably) on my progess if anyone is still paying attention.
I'm still paying attention just for the hell of it. This was pretty funny:
"that's why I keep saying the PSU is OK, but then again, I have no idea what I'm talking about."
My suggestion is wait a while and try later. If that doens't work, I just take it into the shop. My dad buys all his computers for his business from there, so they do all our work for free. If you want you can mail it here and I'll take it in
"Jack, will you call me, if you're able?"
"I've got your phone number written, in the back of my Bible."

I didn't know you could do that. I did last night, and it ran fine for about 15 minutes. Nothing happened of course, but it didn't shut itself down. So I guess I'm off to find a new CPU it looks like.
Maine has a good swing for a pitcher but on anything that moves, he has no chance. And if it's a fastball, it has to be up in the zone. Basically, the pitcher has to hit his bat. - Mike Pelfrey
Well, I'm coming to you live......for now......from my computer. Keep your fingers crossed. Thanks for all the help guys. If it wasn't for this place I'd still be chipping golf balls into the open case on the floor.
Did you buy a new CPU or did you get the old one running?

Got a new one. That appears to be the problem since it's running fine now. It's a little hotter than before (~98° right now under moderate load), but I still haven't figured out the problem with the case yet. I'm just happy I have anything working at this point.
98 with no over-clocking? What type of cpu is the new one? What was the old one?
