I have Utley & Burke as my second-basemen — wait it out?

Here's my roster stuff:

12-team 7x5 roto
hitting: average, errors, home runs, batter strikeouts, runs, rbi, stolen bases
pitching: ERA, strikeouts, WHIP, net wins (W-L), saves
C: Kendall 1B: Morneau 2B: Utley 3B: Blalock
SS: Renteria OF: Huff, C. Lee, Drew, P. Wilson, L. Gonzalez
SP: R. Johnson, Santana, Harden, Piniero, Haren
RP: Dotel, Ryan, Gagne, Sao

Noting that we count batter strikeouts and errors, it isn't all bad to have these guys in my lineup for a while, but obviously this puts me in a hole if it goes on for too long.

We have a salary cap, and I can get nothing but scrubs to fill in. I would have to drop Luis Gonzalez or some such to free up money for even someone like Aaron Miles or D'angelo Jimenez.

Do you think one or both of these guys will be everyday players in, say, a month? I think I could handle that.

He's a buck, which is the cheapest in our league. Thought that was a nice price for a closer, even if he's injured and going to close for the Rockies.

Obviously, the big wild card as far as salary is Gagne. I have almost 10 percent of my salary wrapped up in him. If the news on him turns really, really bad, salary won't be a problem. But for now, it is.

Perhaps you should probe the idea of trading for a 2B who steals. You have no SBs on the roster.

As for your original q...I guess holding with Utley?Burke is OK this early. But not for too long.
