Is Damaso Marte officially taking over yet?

I picked up Marte off waivers. Is he a closer yet?

he will get you saves for the time being, his job isn't for sure though.

I got a nice 2 saves this week from him on my one team.

I've heard a lot of different opinions on this.

(As a Marte owner, I've been looking for any information I can get.)

My best guess... Koch will get one, maybe two more chances to save his job. If he blows another save, I'm guessing that the job will belong to Marte.

Would you take him over Politte or no? Marte is on the better team but Politte's job is more secure.

Politte is more valuable than Marte right now.

I can see Marte and Koch exchanging roles all season.

Officially he hasn't taken over the job. But I'm sure you know what happened with Keith Foulke last year. He was demoted after several poor outings.

Right now, there's no question -- Politte is more valuable.

I'm not so sure the ChiSox will finish with a better record that the Jays, frankly.

And I'd give Marte a 50/50 chance of taking over the closer role.

Here's hoping that the ChiSox stay away from the dreaded closer by committee & hand the job to Marte.

I didn't realize it today, but I just learned that Marte is a lefty.

Lefties rarely make it as closers, because managers tend to like to use lefties on a situational basis.

So in a weird way, this hurts Marte's chances of becoming the sole closer. Closer-by-committee seems like the more likely scenario.

(As a Marte owner, however, I hope I'm wrong.)

I PICKED MARTE AND POLITTE HAVING ONLY WILLIAMSON AS A CLOSER AND HAVE USED POLITTE BECAUSE I THINK THE JAYS ARE BETTER THAN CHI-TOWN. AT LEAST FOR THE TIME BEING... MARTE DID PICK UP 2 SAVES TO POLITTE'S ONE BUT I HAVE A FEELING WE HAVEN'T SEEN THE LAST OF BILLY KOCH.
