"Apr 5 Athletics pitcher Rich Harden, who was supposed to start Wednesday night, won't start until Sunday against the Devil Rays, according to the Contra Costa Times. He continues being bothered by a blister on his middle finger.
Views: The Athletics are playing it smart with Harden. They want to make sure the blister doesn't rip, which would cost him even more time. Harden will take the mound Sunday against a much more beatable Devil Rays team, and we expect him to be on his game."
I don't even want to hear it.
I bobbled all off-season about whether to keep Harden or Beckett. Projection-wise, I found them to be virtually the same, so I kept Harden, if only because of Beckett's blister history.
Then this happens.
Nonetheless, this is nothing serious. The problem with Beckett was that the blisters recurred. The next time Harden develops a blister, then you can get worried.
I don't want to hear it either. As a beckett owner last year and a harden owner this year, I will be ready to go on a rampage if harden pulls a beckett on me.
