Felix? Not quite yet ...

Postby AKhomebrewer » Thu Apr 07, 2005 2:10 pm

With the possible shoulder injury to Madritsch last night against Minn, there was some quick speculation the Mariners might call up the phenom.

However, while Hargrove hasn't tipped his hand, it seems the likely choices if Bobby is down for a spell are either moving Franklin back out of the bullpen, or calling up Baek or Campillo.

In the Sea. Times today pitching coach Bryan Price said they want Felix to get more 'seasoning' against AAA hitting. Between the lines: an early call-up starts his arbitration clock, so don't expect him before the end of May at the earliest.

(Fine with me; I just fried my waiver priority on Lyon and now I'm in the back of the line :-o).

i really hope they don't rush him up. i'd hate to see him lose confidence if he gets hit hard in the majors
