Who do you think will replace Wickman if he struggles?

1. Howry
2. Riske
3. Betancourt

And Riske and Betancourt both painfully made their case that they are totally ineffective at the job when they tried closing last year.

yeah, i have wickman on a couple of my teams as my #2 closer, not good. i know its only one start so hopefully he turns it around

Riske was bad, but Betancourt was darn good! Rafael did well but lost the job because they felt he was better suited in a setup role.

I had Betancourt (when he got the closer job) and I seem to remember that he sucked. I couldn't find a game log on his performance when he was a closer, but his overall '04 stats are 4 saves and 7 blown saves.

it was still ONE outing. he isn't totally secure, but he is going to get some leeway.

I'd say any of Riske/Betancourt/Howry. I don't think they've said who though. Betancourt is their best RP so he'd probably have the most success as closer, but if he isn't given the job he can't get any saves. As for Wickman losing the job... he's not very good so I could easily see it happening. His only good season was 2001.
