Short update on Vazquez

Back on the Vazquez topic...

I own him, and if he really was tipping his pitches, then it is pretty good news. Tipping pitches can be corrected, so I wont be too worried.

Remember last year when Santana was sucking it up during the first month? His problem was tipping his pitches, once he corrected the problem we all saw how effective he could be.

I loved reading this. maybe because it's 1 in the morning and I just got back from the bar, but I just read every post one by one agreeing with the guy (or girl) that posted. so his quote was taken out of context. so funny.

What I've said over and over again ....
Vasquez --> worn down (back to back 230 IP seasons), K rate falling, big bust candidate, fastball ineffective

Vasquez threw so many curveballs and changeups last season because his fastball lost a ton of velocity and just wasn't there at all. I highly doubt he wasn't a fastball pitcher during his 241 K ride in Montreal. That fastball failure in the second half of last season scares me, and as seen in the last half of last season, I think he was forced to become a curve and changeup pitcher, something that doesn't work for him.

Do you guys think that Vazquez can right himself? I know his owner in my league is very low on him, and was talking about tradng him. I could grab him for really cheap. He was a solid pitching with the expos, I always thought he just wore down in the second half. Even if he can correct his problems, he's still on the D'Backs in the BOB, so i'm not sure how much value he has.

Im taking a chance. A guy in my league is the exact same. I have offered him Lew Ford and I think he may bite. Ill let him ride the pine until he seems to come good again.
