Is Polanco Starting Again Today?

Postby Secret Avatar » Wed Apr 06, 2005 10:59 am

Any word? There have been mixed signals from the team. On the one hand, they say he won the starting job over Utley at 2B. On the other, I've heard that Utley will still get lost of starts.
I am the Master. Don't question the Master. Just do what he says and be proud.

They are supposedly going to split the time equally...but if one gets hot then they will probably be in more. Other injuries (e.g. Bell) may make it easier, but if everyone's on the same level, it will be an even split.

You may not know anything until the lineups are given to the ump, unless you have a good pre-game Phillies telecast to listen to. :-o

Ding, ding, we have a winner. This is exactly what they should do. Give Bell and his 80 year old back a break, on the bench. :-b

correct. But when you sign a guy to a stupid contract you are forced to play to save face when everyone knows he is trash. :-P

Chase for governor. No emoticon needed.

A heads up for anyone platooning Polanco and Utley.

Utley is in the lineup tonite batting 7th. Lofton takes Polanco's place in the 2 hole.

In one league where I have Utley, we count batter strikeouts and errors against you. So, theoretically, if he only starts against righties for a while, I might get a nice chunk of his good stats (hit 12 of his 13 dingers against righties last year) and get fewer Ks and errors.
That having been said, of course I hope he plays his way into a full-time job.
