hey guys, long time no see. I am going to start trying to get on the cafe more now that the baseball season has started. But here is my real dilemna, i can't go to sleep . I don't want stupid tips like whack the mole before sleeping or anything physical. I want things like thinking about something to get me to sleep, jumping sheep ( i actually tried that i am so desperate) or summin like that.
This is going to sound kind of weird, but it usually works for me. When you close your eyes after you've had a long day and are tired and just turned out the lights, do you see little paterns of light that are still remaining in your eyes (I guess that's why they're there )? They are usually just little patterns that you have to concentrate to see them, they're not just obvious. But anyways, if you actually concentrate on them, and follow them, it works by clearing your brain from all of your day to day problems and allowing you to relax. They won't put you to sleep directly, but they will clear your brain, which will eventually help you sleep.
If you don't know what I'm talking about, just look for them tonight, I bet you'll see them. It sounds weird, but it works for me.
spray some cologne(that smells good) on the back of your hand, and lay down with your hand real close to your nose,,,,, just concentrate on smelling the cologne and thinking of nothing else........ and before u know u will be asleep.....
whatever you do, don't work out. Your brain will think "hey, you just worked out, so that must mean its the afternoon" so it wont go to bed. I'm not making that up, it was on CNN last may. Also, try reading a book for school.

This is too funny and if it doesn't work you can up the ante by dumping a bottle of cologne in a garbage bag and then place the garbage bag on your head and tie it off at your neck with a rubber band.

If things like the above or warm milk or melatonin don't work for you, just try really getting into a routine. The first night or 2 might be tough but (seriously) I used to chug 2 beers in 5 minutes and then lay right down. It would let me fall asleep and then the next day, I would get more used to going to sleep at that time. Unfortunately, sometimes I have a problem with waking up too early.
Just concentrate on your breathing. Have no lights, no sound, no nothing. Turn off any electronic devices, save an alarm. Just breathe in... and breathe out. Just like that, sleep is on you.
