This guy was pretty good last year nearly getting 30 bombs. I have him on a couple of teams this year also.

What do you guys think of him this year? I expect similar power numbers with maybe a few more RBI, but I'm not so sure about his batting average. Can he pull up his average?

Projections for '05?

shhh. He's a bigtime sleeper still.

He has been making noticeable progress at the plate - especially with his discipline.

Yesterday he had a very significant AB: The Tigers were way up at the time 8-1 I believe, bases were loaded with 2 outs. He drew a full count walk. The fact that he didnt strike out or flail at a bad pitch speaks volumes about his progress over the last yr. He could have tried to be a HR mashing hero, but instead took what they gave him. If he continues to do that he'll hit over .275 this yr. 30 HRs are a given. With the lineup around him he should also see plenty of Rs and RBIs.

Dont forget, this is also his contract yr since his agent, Scott Boras, wouldnt even discuss a multi yr deal with the Tigers in the offseason.

I like his chances of slightly improving all of his stats (Avg being the smallest increase).

I have him on my AL only fantasy team

He has been a major prospect for too long to be a bust. Think Phil nevin in this guys case. He will improve on all of his numbers this year

Definitely a sleeper. He's definitely got talent, it's all a matter of whether or not this is the year. I think he made good strides last year and with a better lineup this year I think he'll definitely improve on last years numbers across the board.

guess i'll repeat what everyone thinks, this kid is good all he needs to do is remain a bit patient in that lineup and he'll do lots of damage.
