I know its only the first game of the season, but Looper looked horrible out there. Who thinks the mets will pursue Urbina at all this season?

Well they have been pursuing him but I guess Detroit's price is currently too high. Maybe that will change or maybe near the AS break the Mets will be willing to pay the price but either way Urbina is not being looked at as Looper's replacement. The grass isn't greener on the other side. ;-)

Look at the games Looper blew last year. When he is off he gets hit hard. It sucks that it happened on opening day when the rest of the team was awesome but Looper will bounce back.

Maine has a good swing for a pitcher but on anything that moves, he has no chance. And if it's a fastball, it has to be up in the zone. Basically, the pitcher has to hit his bat. - Mike Pelfrey

I can't imagine they would replace Looper with Urbina even if they did get him.

I'm happy with the game today - everyone looked good, with the exception of Looper. And I trust he'll revert to form.

But even if he doesn't, I think he might make a nice addition to our starting rotation. He's got pretty good stuff. He'd make a good starter, I think.

I agree. the Mets looked great. A few guys with multible hits, Pedro was, well Pedro. If the Mets continue getting poor reliefe pitching support, I'm sure they will go out and get it. They have swam so far, they won't drown in a glass of water. Can't ait to see Glavine tomorrow
