K. Benson (NYM - SP) Latest News Apr 4 News: During a bullpen session on Sunday, Benson felt some discomfort in his strained right pectoral muscle, putting his first start of the regular season in jeopardy. The Mets' righthander, who already had been pushed back from Thursday to Saturday, will travel to New York to be re-evaluated to determine his status. For now, he has been listed as day-to-day. Advice: Benson still is penciled in for Saturday, but whether he takes the mound then will be decided over the next several days. He split last season between the Mets and Pirates, going a combined 12-12 with a 4.31 ERA and one complete game in 31 starts. (STATS, Inc.)

Although Yahoo hasn't put him on their list of DL people yet...
Maine has a good swing for a pitcher but on anything that moves, he has no chance. And if it's a fastball, it has to be up in the zone. Basically, the pitcher has to hit his bat. - Mike Pelfrey
Benson was border line ownable in a 12 team league in the first place. Stash him on the DL, and see how well he comes off. If he struggles, cut him loose, I say.

News: The Mets put right-hander Kris Benson on the 15-day disabled list Monday with a strained chest muscle.
Analysis: He was originally scheduled to pitch the third game of the season, but was moved back after developing soreness on the right side of his chest. It bothered him again when he threw in the bullpen Sunday, prompting the Mets to give him time off. Benson will likely be ready by Week 3 for Fantasy purposes. Anna Benson might consider giving her husband a few massages in meantime

this injury could actually be good if you use it correctly. someone in your league may dump him, and he'd be a fantastic ww pickup, IMO. he'll very solid #3 guy in a 12-team league, IMO.
