14 Team points league....how do I look?

Postby coachdino » Mon Apr 04, 2005 1:31 am

It is a 6 keeper league. Hitting points are: 1 point per base, r.b.i., run and walk. 2 points per steal. -1 point for each strikeout and caught steal. Pitching points are: 10 points per win, 5 points per save, 2 points per hold, 1 point for each strikeout and inning pitched. -1 for each walk and earned run.
With our league rules players are only elligible for 1 position. We also don't have to set starters, we count the highest payer at each position for the week. We count 1 at each offensive position, 3 o.f.'ers, and the highest scoring player not counted is our d.h. We also count our 4 highest starting pitchers and 2 relievers.

My Lineup
c Mauer, Closser
1b Teixeiera (keeper), Gibbons
2b Soriano (keeper), Jose Castillo
3b Glauss, Inge
ss Greene, F. Lopez
o.f. M. Cabrerra (keeper), Huff (keeper), Rowand, Lane, Hidalgo, Mondessi, Church
s.p. Peavy (keeper), Bonderman, Marquis, R. Lopez, Drese, Robertson, Leiter, Backe, Floyd.
r.p. Lidge (keeper), Hawkins, Wickman, Otsuka.

All positive and negative comments greatly appreciated.

Let me guess, 14 teams, six keepers each, and more than half the managers kept three or more starting pitchers....

Ugh! Bad luck... not enough pitching here, and too many teams in the league to say there will always be some sort of semi-talented option on the waiver wire.

I know I only have 1 go to starting pitcher, but with our league rules I can get by with a bunch of "decent" pitchers. We count our 4 highest scoring starters for the week. We only get 1 point per inning so a 20 point win is a pretty high score.

Any other opinions? :-°
