I have a non-athlete, Dr Ben Carson. He was an inner city child of Detroit who was told he was retarded. His mother who couldn't read (he didn't know it at the time) forced him to read a book a week and give her a book report. Suddenly his grades began to rise to a straight-A student. The then went on to become a world renoun brain surgeon.

Dr. Carson now goes to inner city schools speaking to children about what he accomplished and encouraging them to do the same. If you want to read his story the book is called "Think Big"

Great read ;-D

Here's a good link:

Wow I actually saw this guy speak at my University when I was like a sophomore. He's at Johns Hopkins right? Anyway, he is a very good speaker. ;-D

Famous people are not role models. It is the people you deal with everyday that are role models. Hopefully they are positive ones.

His recovery from cancer is great, but there are just too many accusations for my liking. I sincerly hope and want to believe he has never used performance enhancers, but I wouldn't be surprised if he did.
