10-team H2H

Postby beltrans_boy » Sun Apr 03, 2005 4:56 am

Alright, so I just finished drafting in my 10-team H2H 5x5 league. I tried to emphasize hitting, but I think I may have done so to a fault. I'm a little concerned about my shaky pitching. What are your guys thoughts on this squad? Should I look to trade a guy like Rolen for some pitching help? As of right now, Durham is a temporary addition while I wait for Kaz to gain 2B eligibility...I know I'm a little 1B-heavy, but there was some AWESOME value to be had late in the draft (Konerko 127th overall? Morneau 107th? Casey 154th? I couldn't pass on those guys)

C - V. Martínez (Cle - C)
1B - A. Huff (TB - 1B,3B,OF)
2B - R. Durham (SF - 2B)
3B - S. Rolen (StL - 3B)
SS - M. Tejada (Bal - SS)
OF - H. Matsui (NYY - OF)
OF - A. Dunn (Cin - 1B,OF)
OF - V. Wells (Tor - OF)
Util - J. Morneau (Min - 1B)
BN - D. Wright (NYM - 3B)
BN - P. Konerko (CWS - 1B)
BN - S. Casey (Cin - 1B)
BN - K. Matsui (NYM - SS)

Anyway, here's where it starts to get ugly. I've got injury and quality worries abound. If Burnett can have the kind of year that he's capable of having, then I'm a little less worried. Can Pedro stay healthy? I felt I kind of had to pick him up when he fell to me at 27th overall). How do you guys feel about Miller and Morris? Can they rebound to have a quality season?

SP - P. Martínez (NYM - SP)
SP - A. Burnett (Fla - SP)
RP - K. Foulke (Bos - RP)
RP - B. Ryan (Bal - RP)
P - M. Buehrle (CWS - SP)
P - Z. Greinke (KC - SP)
BN - P. Byrd (LAA - SP)
BN - J. Thomson (Atl - SP)
DL - M. Morris (StL - SP)
DL - W. Miller (Bos - SP)

Anyway guys, thanks! If you post your teams, I'll give some insight as well. I appreciate the help.

your pitching is fine, and dont worry about it -- id be more worried about 2nd, wait three weeks with wright and youll be able to get a great 2b back (or if you really want a P)

I like your team alot...your pitching should be fine although i usually like to carry 3 closers in a H2H league. If you really want another pitcher I would look to trade Huff/Rolen, or maybe something like Konerko and Greinke for a picther.
