Also, you'd probably really enjoy the book. That, and Angels & Demons (also by him, and same premise), are two of the most entertaining books I've ever read. Most of my family is very religious, but they all enjoyed the book. I'm sure some of the info isn't true, and it has received a lot of flack from the catholic church, but I'd bet that it's no less accurate than the Bible.
Also there are numerous books that refute we landed on the moon, or that the holocaust ever happened. It's no surprise that many people ahve tried to make money off of "disproving" the DaVinci Code seeing as though the book is so popular.
way to high jack a thread honoring the pope j/k. i've actually never read the "code" either, but i didnt know that a majority of it was devoted to proving the catholic church a scam. i personally am not catholic, but from what i've heard the code tried to dispell all of christianity in general. i've seen some stuff about it on the discovery channel, lol, which tries to point out an intimate relationship between Jesus and mary magdelene? what is this world coming to
Much of the supposed "truth" in the book has been around for a long time and has been disproven before. I am no Catholic, but I think it's wrong to trash the Catholic church. Every religion has skeletons in it's past because you can't eliminate the common problem....people.
There is a difference in my mind in rooting out problems within the church to make it stronger and trying to destoy it.
The Pope has done himself proud and done a ghreat job in representing the Catholic church in this world. The Catholic church may be a joke in the US with all the pediphile scandals but around the world....africa, south america, and asia the church is growing.
