But seriously, this guy could be a gem. In his last two ST starts, he absolutely shut down the Cards and the Yanks. The only run he gave up in either was a solo shot to Pujols (it happens). It's not taking much to get him, he's got a good offense scoring him runs, he's got Comerica National Park, and he's got Pudge.

Grabbing Ledezma is a great idea for me to POOP on unless you're in a real deep league. Seriously though, you can't put much stock in a couple of ST starts.
Maine has a good swing for a pitcher but on anything that moves, he has no chance. And if it's a fastball, it has to be up in the zone. Basically, the pitcher has to hit his bat. - Mike Pelfrey
Somewhere, the ghost of the Matt Riley thread is laughing.
Seriously, though I won't poop on him (yuck!), but I'm not about to grab him until he shows me something in season. I do have him on my watch list however.
I know it's only ST and that doesn't mean that he'll have a 0.50 ERA or anything, but it WAS the Yanks and Cards. That was really my only point. And it was the big boys, not the second teamers. I don't see him winning the Cy Young, but he was decent last year and he's a young guy. Could be a great find as a number 4 or 5.
As a matter of fact, I AM in a deep league, so there is a spot for him.

I know I was just joking with you. I watched the game today and he did look good.

Im not gonna rush out and get him yet - but as Rkiivs suggested - just keep an eye on him.
As for ML #5 SPs - I can name more that are worse than Ledezma than I can that are better. And for a Tiger fan, that aint too bad especially considering the abuse we've recieved about our pitching staff the last 2 years.
Just wait...
Bonderman
Sleeth
Verlander
Ledezma
Zumaya
H. Sanchez
I know Im a homer, but just to put it into perspective, Bonderman has a lower ceiling than Sleeth and Verlander. It could get ugly.
Ledezma is a year away from a fantasy roster, methinks. He will have the odd great performance, showing his potential, but will have too many 3 inning 5 run games to be worth a spot on any other than deep AL only leagues.
