Rowand, Is He Being Hyped Too Much?

I dont think so his hype is well deserved and not over done. IMO.

ive avoided rowand as well. im surprised a few experts have been so high on him. the guy's upside is not that high. not on any of my teams, and i have alot of teams

My philosophy is to put together the best possible team while not completely ruling out players. I have to admit that I wasn't too high on Rowand until recently and our league avoided him like the plague. I snatched him up in the 15th round... The following hitters were taken BEFORE him in the previous 2 rounds:

Burnitz
Uribe
Nevin
C.Guillen
J.Guillen
Overbay
Varitek
Giambi
A.Boone
Utley
Alou
Durham
Berkman

Outside of Berkman, I would much rather have Rowand than any of those guys. He's simply being overlooked and if you can get him as your 4th OF, you did pretty well for yourself.

yeah i agree with the people who dont think hes too overhyped. the guys legit after rd 9 in a 12 team league. u get a multiposition guy who should be verygood this season. so imo hes only overhyped if the rd he was picked in was a single digit.

Thta's awesome for you, way to go! Some leagues overhype him, some league's avoid him too much...I'd say it's best to be somewhere in the middle of those. Unless you're like Yoda and can steal him in the 15th.

He can hit, he can run..I compare him to randy winn/coco crisp.. except rowand has more power.. He's already 1-2 in stolen bases, I love the running philosphy ozzie has!

Again, I say Rowand will have a big year, his progress will be interesting.
