freddy garcia is overrated

an official post for my crusade: this guy is a ~4 era starter. he's a disappointment only because people think he's going to be an ace.. .like he's going to have a 2001-esque season every single year. he was beating the yanks 2-0... now he's on the hook for 6 in the third. sure it's the yankees, but still... i really dont think this guy is going to have any real chance of "turning it on" and showing the world that 2002 was a fluke season. if anything, 2001 was the fluke.

shrug. if you've got him, i dont mean to personally diss ya, i just hope that you didnt draft him high. i had freddy in '01... he had a great year, but derailed towards the end and into the playoffs. i avoided him at all costs in '02 and '03, and well, it doesnt seem like a bad idea.

everyone he put on base just happened to score. now that's what i call efficient.

i'm tellin ya, if gil meche pitches even 2/3 as good as he has pitched this season, he's your opening day ace in 2004, barring injury.
