Hey, does anybody know . . .

. . . if the guy on American Idol (Nikko Smith), is Ozzie Smith's son? He mentioned the other night that his old man retired from the Cardnials in '96, and he looks a lot like him. Seemed strange to me. He looks nothing like a ball player, and personally I don't think he's a real solid singer either. But, whatever! :-B

He is Ozzie's son.

There will come a day when Barry Bonds leaves baseball, and everything about the game will be the better for it.

I'll take Kent's word for it. ;-D
Yes doctor, I am sick.

Sick of those who are hypocrites.
Yes doctor, an army is forming.
Yes doctor, there will be a war.

Yes he is Ozzie's son. He may not look like a ballplayer to you but he looks like the spitting image of his Dad to me.

Yep my wife is a huge American Idol fan and she told me about it the other day. I wonder if he will do a back flip if he wins. :-D

he is the only reason im watching the show at thispoint. (i always watch the tryouts because well they are hillarious). but i keep rooting for nikko since ozzie was one of my childhood heros as a player. i always loved ozzie. plus i have a girlfriend who is a aspiring singer so she likes to watch it as well so that means i pretty much have to watch it. ;-)

He probably could do it. The last couple years of Ozzie's career when his back was too bad to do the pre-game flip, Nikko would do it for him.

Not to hijack the thread but can you imagine a team's reaction today if one of their star players wanted to do a backflip before the game? :-?

Is your first statement actually true? because if it is, that's pretty cool. A young nikko doing flips.

Forget the man crush. I drop what I'm doing to watch Zack Greinke pitch.

Yes, Ozzie's son did the backflip for him before some games when Ozzie wasn't healthy enough.

Nikko's Mom and Ozzie are divorced. Anyone from STL has heard Ozzie doing a commercial for a local divorce lawyer for men at least once. There are a couple of good rumors as to why they got divorced.
