My 18-team 6x6 H2H world series team

Postby Pokey » Wed Mar 30, 2005 9:24 pm

I know my closer situation isn't ideal, but it's hard to get good closers in an 18-team league. I have a few trade offers for closers on the table, but I may end up punting saves. This league counts the standard 5x5 plus Holds and OPS, anyway... here's my team:

C- Paul LoDuca
1B- David Ortiz
2B- Julio Lugo
3B- Pedro Feliz
SS- Michael Young
CF- Aaron Rowand
OF- Hideki Matsui
OF- Jeff Davanon
Util- Carlos Pena
BN- David Eckstein
BN- Placido Polanco

SP- Jason Schmidt
SP- Carlos Zambrano
RP- Chad Cordero
RP- Mike Gonzalez
P- Juan Rincon
P- Doug Davis
BN- Matt Morris
BN- Kiko Calero
BN- Scott Linebrink

i gotta say your team is real real good for an 18 team leauge.

Punten saves might be a good idea considering the strength of the rest of your team.

ill be honest tho, who the hell is jeff davanon

a guy whose finally getting is chance to start for the Angels. His numbers last year, translated to 550 ab's (he had about half that many) are: .277 Avg, 14 HR, 79 R, 66 RBI, 36 SB. However, batting 2nd in a packed angels lineup I expect some of those numbers (AVG, R) to be even higher. I'm hoping for.

.285/15/100/75/35

Overall I would rate your team at about 5 also out of 10.

An 18 team league? Goodness!!

Your C and 1B pos are good.

Feliz is projected to breakout this year. But there is alot of pressure on him since Bonds is out for who knows how long.

OF is so so and pitching is moderate with Morris and Schmidt being your 2 horses.

Good luck to you Pokey and thanks for rating my team.
The BIG RED Machine will rise again.
