For those members from last year.....Riley traded to Rangers

Mad, do you really think the Rangers could have gotten more for Nivar? IMO, he was practically worthless anyways. Better than trading him for a washed up veteran, at least Riley does have upside.

Nivar's 25 years old and has put up numbers of:

.302 with 16 home runs and 30 steals in 868 at bats between AA and AAA. Not great, but not exactly worthless either. Say a leadoff hitter with 10-15 home runs, 30+ steals and a .290 average or so in a year or two. That's not too terrible. He'd be even better if he learned to take a walk. At 25, he's got quite a bit left to learn. Shame we gave up on him so easily, and for so little in return though.

Bottomline, Yes, I do believe we could have done better than Riley for him.
