He's healthy, right? He's a decent pitcher, right? Or is the new park really bad for his numbers, such that he shouldn't be touched with a 10 foot pole? I just picked him up because I had an empty bench spot, but do you think he's worth holding onto, or should I dump him when the next pickup comes along?
An unanswered question is better than an unquestioned answer
I also like Wolf more than Davis, if it is a points league. In a roto league I have Davis and Wolf at almost the exact same position (57 and 58). Playing in that bandbox of a stadium kills the ERA. Do not expect anything less than 4, and it could be significantly higher than that.

I expect a healthy season from him and a decent rebound, but expecting great numbers from anyone in the new Philly park will leave you disappointed. I am taking a gamble on him in one league as a 5th starter.
I think Wolf will have a fine season and rank him similarly to Buerhle and Garcia of the White Sox. Which is to say, I dont think I would play any of them often at home, but on the road they are studs.
Dont forget - Wolf pitched through injuries much of the season last yr which obviously showed up in the boxscores.
His ST numbers are deceptive in that he was trying new pitches and working on other things. Yesterday he went 5 scoreless with 8 Ks - afterwards saying he decided not to work on any new pitches and that it was "game on".
I personally think he is slightly underrated and I frequently see SPs drafted ahead of him that probably shouldnt be.
I've been burned by wolf before as well, although I do expect him to be better this year. I hate the ballpark, though. The ballpark is a big factor to me. It's a kind of pick your poison with the Phillies pitchers this year, I could see Lieber, Wolf, Padilla, Myers, Floyd each having good years-- but I can't see all of them having good years. Ballpark stinks and the team is just not that lucky. If you decide it's Wolf, can't say I blame ya; but I would think there are safer options out there.
What is the problem with the Phillies' stadium? Short porches? It can't be as bad as Coors. That's the only park that makes me pass on pitchers. SPs have a shot at pitching well in any other park.
