To repeat something I added to the closers thread:
According to The Rocky Mountain News, the Rockies will acquire B. Kim from the Red Sox today, as long as Red Sox ownership approves picking up more than $5.6m of the $6m he is owed.
They also report that Tsao will start the season on the DL.
This likely means the Rockies will go with a bullpen by committee to start the season, with Fuentes, Scott Dohmann and Ryan Speier getting save opportunities.
Kim would apparently start in MR, but may get some save chances later.
Will be interesting to see what happens when Tsao returns.

NICE, i mean, sucks for Tsao, but NICE,
oh and they laughed when I got Dohmann for a dollar, "a colorado RP? Are you crazy"
but who's laughing now? CrazyPooja is, that's who.
Dude if this is true then you made my day.
"I'm going to meet the greatest umpire of all, and he knows I'm innocent."
Dohmann is a nice pickup, for $1. I'd be hesitant to pick up any of these guys (though I did get Fuentes when I heard Tsao may go down). I think when it all works itself out (come May), Speier will be the closer in Colorado -- that kid has great stuff!

wrveres, you must be thinking of Justin Speier. Ryan Speier won the Rolaids Relief Man for the minor leagues last year -- converted 37 out of 40 opportunities with an ERA of around 2. Word was he had a chance to become the Rockies closer this year -- not sure if he will make the big league roster. He was in AA last year so might get sent down to AAA.
Justin Speier is in Toronto, setting up Miguel Batista.
Ryan Speier is the youngster in Colorado who I think has the stuff to be the closer.
I think it's Kim's job now.
Colorado has made it clear that if the trade goes through it won't be Kim's job. He will start in MR. If he is only throwing in the low 80s, this makes some sense. If he gets back to form, then maybe try him in save opportunities.
There is some chance that Tsao won't hit the DL (they gave him a cortisone shot and say he has no structural damage), so he could end up the closer afterall. Since it's been awhile since he pitched, I don't really see this being the case opening day and bet it will be a committee.
