Utley vs Uribe....

Postby bryan1327 » Wed Mar 30, 2005 7:47 am

Both would be set for the 2nd base job in our league. At that postion which of these two..Utley or Uribe..do you think will have the better stats for the season?

Thanks

Both are young, hit in great parks, and are surrounded by a good lineup.

That being said, I would lean towards Uribe. He has a better track record plus he's elegible at 2b, 3b and ss. They will probably come off the board about the same time.

Comeout? Is he gay?

:-b

I would go with Uribe and his multi-positionality in a re-draft, but if it's a keeper, you have to go with Utley.

I would go with Uribe in either league. He's got just as much potential (people forget the hype surrounding this guy 2 yrs ago) and he's actually younger. Just my $.02

This may not help much, but the way I've been seeing Utley swing the bat leads me to believe he's fully ready to be a top tier 2b this season. I've chosen him in almost all of my leagues over Uribe so far.

I expect both to be great relative to where they're being drafted....but Uribe has already shown us he can produce for a whole season, whereas Utley hasn't. Factor in the multipositions and I'd go with Uribe.

to respectfully disagree, I say that's more because he never gets the chance to prove himself but he's always been ready to do so. The multipositions is what helps Uribe a lot though, I'll agree with that. If it helps Utley qualifies at 1b in Yahoo.

Utley, not really close in my eyes - Utley has the ability to punish the ball out of the park, Uribe is a generic player with one good year under his belt and a bunch of lame ones in CO

I agree...but the bottom line is that he hasn't proved himself, regardless of the reason. Like I said, I expect Utley to be good...but I am more confident in Uribe being good, as we've already seen it for most of a season.
