does bagwell bounce back? was his terrible season due to his shoulder?.....is it healed?.......is he worth starting in a head to head league?.........where do you rank him in terms of starting firstbasemen?
Washed up or comeback neither. A shell of his former self. Still a solid player. With his injury and haveing to adjust his swing his days of 30+ HR are gone.
I put him at about 12-15th best 1B, depending on format.
"Son we would like to keep you around here but were trying to win a pennant this year."
His shoulder is from arthritis...it has not gotten any better and it never will.
I think that he will be a little better this season, but not nearly what he used to be. Hes about the #15 first baseman (rough guess there). He went in the 18th round in my most recent draft.
I think he is an incredible bargain in every draft and have him on all three of my teams. I have him as the 9th best 1B and his numbers at 270, 100 runs, 30 HR, 90 RBI, 5 SB.
A great Util or fill in player.

I think that he's not likely to be of much use w/ arthritis. You are better off w/ a flyer who might do well than a 'gamer' who appears likely to play, even if he's NOT effective simply b/c 'he's a gamer' and one of the killer Bs and all that. Or perhaps play 4 days a week and guess which ones and all that. Not worth a roster spot.

Even if he hits those numbers which I doubt how does that make him the 9th best 1B?
Pujols, Helton, Tex, Ortiz, Thome, Lee, Delgado, Dunn, Huff, Hafner
Sexson, Casey, Morneau should all match or better those numbers and all are eligible at 1B.
